Don’t miss Bronx Climate Justice North’s FIRST MAJOR PUBLIC EVENT (co-hosted by the Manhattan College Center for Urban Resilience and Environmental Sustainability), coming up on Saturday, November 14, 2-5 pm. Doors open at 1:45 — this is a free event.
Come hear a fascinating panel including Keynote Speaker Ray Figueroa, President of NYC Community Garden Coalition, Lisa DiCaprio, NYU Prof., who will speak about boiler conversions and the importance of NOT converting to natural gas, Chris Neidl, Director of Solar One, John Reilly, of the amazing Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation, which has been renovating and building green, affordable housing for seniors and other vulnerable groups in the Bronx for decades, and Migdalia Taveras, Executive Director of BEST Academy, Sustainable South Bronx. Ms. Taveras will provide details about dynamic programs that are training a Bronx green workforce.

The forum will be at Smith Auditorium (#4 on map), campus of Manhattan College in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. Take # 1 train (Bronx-bound) to the last stop: 242nd Street/Van Cortlandt Park. Exit station at Broadway & 242nd Street. Walk approximately 1 block west on W. 242nd Street. Bear left, merging onto Manhattan College Parkway. The campus will be on your right. Take the first available path onto the campus, and use the map to locate Smith Auditorium.
We hope you’ll be able to take public transportation or walk, but if you need to drive there is a parking garage on Manhattan College Parkway between Waldo Ave and Broadway (P5 on map).
