“The age of anticipatory mass graves is upon us.”

At a press conference before climbing into a trench holding the AIM pipeline in West Roxbury, MA on June 29, 2016, climate activist Tim DeChristopher said, “The age of anticipatory mass graves is upon us.” Tim was linking the digging of mass graves in Pakistan ahead of an anticipated heat wave to the digging of the AIM pipeline trench in W. Roxbury. Natural gas extraction, distribution, and consumption are driving climate change, leading to mass deaths all over the world, with more to come. The story and photos of the mass graves in Pakistan, DeChristopher said, had broken his heart.

Thank you to the outstanding people of Clergy Climate Action and Tim’s Climate Disobedience Center for a series of courageous direct actions to stop AIM in Massachusetts.
